Welcome to the garden

Blogmas Day 22 - Best of the year part 1: Experiences

2025 has been such a full year. Full of joy. Full of milestones. Full of family. Full of change. It truly was the light at the end of the tunnel after what felt like back to back to back to back years of struggle and grief. So to make sure I record adequate proof that the sun does indeed come out again after rain, here’s my best of the year featuring snippets from everything I experienced and enjoyed this year.

January - Picked out my wedding dress

A very surreal moment. Trying on dresses and ultimately deciding on The One was a dream come true. I absolutely knew it was my dress from the moment I got zipped into it. I still get goosebumps thinking about it almost a year later!

March - Saw the Book of Mormon

I hadn’t seen a play in ages and this was a great one to get my feet wet with them again.

April - Attended my first Bingo Loco

First being the operative word because it definitely won’t be my last. Bingo Loco is the love child mashup of bingo and karaoke with a sprinkle of cosplay and copious amounts of alcohol. I went with my mom and best friends and we had a blast.

May - Had my bridal shower

And got to see my best friend! I felt so loved and (showered) with attention that day. I got some great gifts, including a brand new coffee maker, and had an excellent time with my girls.

May - Celebrated my cat’s 5th birthday

Did she know it was her birthday? No. Was it a great excuse to put that adorable crown on her head? Absolutely.

May - Had our engagement photo shoot

Since no one was actually getting pictures on the night my husband proposed, it was absolutely crucial we got photos in the outfits we were wearing that night. I love a good photo-op.

June - Had a bachelorette party

Ahhh more fun! I’m surrounded by the most capable women in the entire universe and am so blessed for it. My besties threw me a wonderful party filled with good food and lots of fun.

July - Got married!

We had the most perfect day (despite the short bit of rain). The food was excellent, the speeches were wonderful, and all of the music was poppin’. Couldn’t have asked for a better day to get married to my best friend.

September - Took a mini honeymoon

Since we wanted to give ourselves something to look forward to in the new year, we decided to schedule a staycation a couple of months after getting married instead of heading out on the real thing. It was an awesome week of dates and activities and most importantly, rest. We mini-golfed, made candles, went to the museum, made each other dinner, and took naps. 10/10!

October - Started a new job

Whew, as if enough hadn’t already happened this year. After trying and failing to get another job last year, I threw my weary hat back into the ring and managed to get picked by a real company with actual benefits. I hadn’t been happy at my other job for a very long time so this was a welcome transition.

November - Picked out our first Christmas tree as a family

This was so awesome. A new tradition was born and now every year, me and my family will be heading out to get our Christmas tree before Thanksgiving and promptly set it up the weekend after.

December - Finishing Blogmas

Spoiler alert, but once I cross the finish line on Blogmas, I absolutely have no doubt that it’ll be one of the best things I experienced all month.

Until tomorrow!
